World Senior Championship

It’s amazing how much high quality chess is being played at any given moment, all over the world. Many of you will be aware of the Candidates Tournament, which was won by Javokhir Sindarov in spectacular style.

But there is a different World Championship taking place right now: The World Senior Team Championship. There is an extremely strong American team, with four Grandmasters (!) and an IM as the reserve. Longtime followers of American chess will recognize the names: Ehlvest, Shabalov, Kaidanov, Novikov, and Rachels. They just won round three against an all GM team from Alkaloid Chess Club, representing North Macedonia. The board 1 clash between Jaan Ehlvest (USA) and Trajko Nedev (North Macedonia) caught my eye.

Nedev just played 19…Bc8-d7, trying to catch up in development. How would you play for White?
