Sticking with passed pawns in the endgame, I want to share another example where the side with the knight tries to convert against a bishop.
The following position comes from a game between Shreesh and Denisov, from the International Physically Disabled Chess Associated World Rapid Event, in 2024.
Black has just played 39…h6, attacking the white knight on g5. White’s advanced passed pawn on b6 is of course a key feature of the position. Can you find the winning line for White? Solution coming tomorrow!
