Tharin Chadwick, affectionately known as “Dr. Chess” to his students, and beloved member of the NSCF family, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 6, 2016, just 2 days before his 50th birthday. Tharin was one of the longest-serving NSCF instructors. An inspiring chess teacher to thousands of Greenwich and Westchester County students, Tharin worked to be a role model beyond the chess board. Stylishly-dressed for all occasions, he would tell his students that they could earn respect by looking respectable and being polite. Tharin loved to teach and that love came through immediately to everyone who met him. He is missed by all.
