Each year the NSCF produces several weeks of fun and educational summer chess camps for students of all abilities. These camps help prevent summer learning loss. More competitive chess players benefit from having a concentrated exposure to chess over a week, or several weeks. This summer, we will be offering our chess camps online. For information, visit our events page.

NSCF Tournaments - Putting Chess Knowledge to the Test
Since the very beginning, providing our students with opportunities to test their knowledge has been a key component of our programming. Low-cost tournaments are organized across Westchester County, NY and Greenwich, CT with sections organized by grade and ability level. The tournaments are then organized into a year-long Grand Prix. Students who play multiple events earn additional recognition for their persistence over time. In addition, the NSCF organizes tournaments at Hunter College Campus Schools in Manhattan, the Westchester County Scholastic Chess Championship and the Greenwich City Scholastic Chess Championship. Many players from these events go on to compete at state, national, and even international events.
