Demystifying Chess Workshop #2: Moving Beyond the Basics (FL)

ONE DAY WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS, PARENT VOLUNTEERS AND YOUTH MENTORS

Instructor: FM Sunil Weeramantry

Workshop #2 moves beyond the basics of chess to cover topics taught in weeks 13 through 20+ of the NSCF in-the-curriculum program. The class builds upon the skills taught in day 1, teaches how to combine tactics, recognize patterns, and analyze master-level games. The workshop includes additional materials and online resources.

Normally $250, this class is generously sponsored by the Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County, the Broward Education Foundation, the Florida Panthers Foundation and the City of Sunrise.

Chess for Early Learners - A Workshop for Educators

ONE DAY WORKSHOP FOR PRE-K, KINDERGARTEN, 1ST & 2ND GRADE TEACHERS

ALSO OPEN TO ESE EDUCATORS AND PARENTS

The workshop focuses on the unique methods used to present chess to very young learners in a classroom setting. A link to an article on Chess for Early Learners will be here soon.

The workshop includes additional materials and online resources.

Normally $250, this class is presented in partnership with Family Central and generously sponsored by the Broward Education Foundation, the Florida Panthers Foundation and the City of Sunrise.
